Let's consider the Red Sox one of the most successful teams in baseball in 1918 with five championship titles. All that changed in 1919 the year the Babe was traded to the Yankees.
The curse of the Bambino would last 85 years when the Bosox eventually won the World Series in 2004.
Oh and during those 85 years the Yankees have become the most successfull franchise in baseball.
Flash forward to March 3, 1968, at the time this franchise was second only to the hated Habs with one less championship engraved on Lord Stanley. The Habs would win another 10 cups after this horrible trade was made with Detroit in 1968.This organization would continue to hit rock bottom , catching only a whiff of success here and there in 1978, 1993,1994,and the early 00's, never once making the Finals and reaching the semi's five times.
Oh that 1968 trade involved Frank Mahovlich (The Big M), who would win another two cups with the Habs.
If you believe in curses this one should end in 2018, one year after the Leafs celebrate their 100th anniversary.
The Habs are not foreign to curses either, theirs began on Dec 2 1995. The cornerstone of the team would go on to win another two cups with the Avalanche of Colorado. Oh and by the way Habs fans your 50 year curse should end around the year 2045.

Habs Lash
What happened last night at the Forum in Montreal?
Why wasn't a call made that would have awarded the Pens a penalty shot and a chance to send the game into OT?
I know there are some that will say there have been many missed calls in these playoffs, but this was on the puck carrier which the whole building and t.v. audience saw at home.
Do you really want to know what happened. The call wasn't made because it would have incited a riot in the city, ( a black mark the NHL could not afford).
That's the kind of fans the Habs have. A bunch of sore losers who are even more annoying when they do win.
Here's hoping Sid the kid comes to life and finishes off the Habs!

Blessing Or Curse
Our standard TV bit the dust today. The color was still good and it was functioning properly, until this morning, that's when the you know what hit the fan.
Allow me to explain. First it wouldn't power up, then all it did was scroll through the channels continuously without stopping once. Okay time to figure this one out.
After disconnecting the cable box and trying to turn on the set again, I received the same result as before.
(Little did I know this morning when I got up, things were about to change around here).
Luckily we did purchase a new LCD widescreen, about 2 years ago which was mounted on the wall in our rec room downstairs. (A screen I was using to play XBOX and HD movies) Our darlings we're enjoying watching Treehouse in the living room upstairs.
Today after setting up the cable box our two little darlings are watching the widescreen, leaving daddy without a source of entertainment.
( I think it might be time to grab a new widescreen for the living room).
